This year, we are especially proud to continue supporting all of our past beneficiaries — including Comfort Zone Camp, Magical Moon Foundation, Empower, Hope Floats, and many others — each making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families in need. From providing healing and emotional support to creating opportunities for growth, empowerment, and connection, these organizations continue to inspire us through their compassion and dedication.

The impact of their work has been profound, reaching countless lives both locally and across the country, and it continues to grow because of this incredible community of supporters, volunteers, and advocates. Every donation made in support of these nonprofits also serves as a meaningful way to carry on and honor Heather’s legacy — a legacy rooted in kindness, compassion, generosity, and helping others through life’s most difficult moments. We are deeply grateful to stand alongside these organizations and help further their missions as they continue bringing hope, comfort, and positive change to so many.

Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping grieving children heal, grow, and live fuller lives. Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, Comfort Zone Camp offers free programs in 13 states, including locally here in Massachusetts. Through trust-building activities and age-based support groups—both in-person and virtual—these programs help break the emotional isolation that grief can create.

In 2025, HBF was honored to donate more than $50,000 to support Comfort Zone Camp and its mission of bringing comfort, healing, and hope to grieving children across the country and within our own community.

The Magical Moon Foundations goal is to nurture and empower children with cancer and other life-threatening conditions and their families by teaching healthy ways to deal with challenges and stress.

In 2024, HBF awarded Magical Moon $47,000 to help further their mission by funding their summer programs and supporting their animal therapy program.

Hope Floats is a bereavement and educational center for adults, children, teens, and their families who are grieving, dealing with illness, or facing other life challenges. Their free support services bring hope and healing to those in need.

As our 2023 grant recipient, HBF was proud to grant Hope Floats $25,000.

Empower is an international nonprofit on a mission to empower, support, and connect children and young adults up through age 24 who have experienced the loss of a parent.

As our inaugural 2022 grant recipient, HBF was proud to grant Empower $14,000.
