“Real Life With Liz”

As we approach Memorial Day on May 25th, I find myself reflecting on what this season truly asks of us. To pause, to remember, and to carry forward the light of those we have loved and lost. For my family, that act of remembrance is woven into every day. It is also the spirit behind an organization very close to our hearts: the Heather Bone Foundation, founded in memory of my daughter, Heather.

Heather passed away on Memorial Day in 2021. That date is forever etched into our lives — not just as a moment of loss, but as a call to live with deeper purpose. This year marks the fifth official Heather Bone Foundation parade, a reflection of how her light continues to ripple outward in ways we could have never imagined.

This month, I’m honored to share our story and invite you into a community that believes, as we do, that love endures and that the lives we honor can still shape the lives ahead. The foundation supports family-focused nonprofits creating meaningful outcomes for children and families in need, and every dollar donated is granted forward to these causes. This year, we are especially proud to support all of our past beneficiaries — including Comfort Zone Camp, Magical Moon Foundation, Empower, Hope Floats, and others — each doing extraordinary work in their own way. The impact has been profound and continues to grow because of this incredible community.

Our annual Kids Parade is the foundation’s signature event — and without question, one of the most joyful days of the year.
